Businesses Gain Marketing and Customer Insight by Appending Contact Info to Phone Numbers
You can learn a lot from a phone number. On my home phone, my caller ID let’s me know who is calling: my Best Friend or the National Survey Calling Center? With this info, I can make a split-second decision on what to do. To answer or not to answer.
For businesses, the customer’s phone number offers a different sort of intelligence. And I am not talking about your mom’s caller ID. Reverse Phone Lookup Services like DOTS GeoPhone Plus offer businesses critical data regarding customers and prospective customers. With a service like this, a phone number can provide a business with the following information:
- Residence or Business
- Residential Contact or Business Name
- Associated Address
- Telephone Provider Info (Carrier, City, State and Latitude and Longitude)
- Line type (wireless, landline, VOIP or toll free)
So what can a business do with this data? Here are just a few examples of how some of our customers are using this information:
Online Retailer
Use phone number and appended information to track potentially fraudulent transactions by comparing the appended information with the user-entered address information.
Phone/Mail Order Catalog Call Center
Auto-populating CRM and Contact Center databases: Auto-populating customer contact data reduces the chance of human error and typos while increasing the efficiencies of call center operators.
Laser Eye Surgery Center
Analyzing address and location data to determine future marketing and media spend. Having this detailed information about callers allows marketers to know where their customers and prospects are coming from to determine where to put their money for direct marketing campaigns, tv, etc.
National Grocery Chain
By collecting customer phone numbers at Check-Out, national grocery chains gain valuable insight on a store-by-store basis regarding where their customers are coming from. This helps to inform decisions about future store locations as well as targeted marketing campaigns.
How would having this level of contact information improve your business operations?
LeadsCon 2010… Its all about Quality Leads
I am out in Las Vegas attending LeadsCon 2010. THE Lead Generation Conference. After day one, the event is off to a great start. What I have noticed is that throughout the sessions, a recurring theme is Quality.
Quality Data. Quality Leads. Quality relationships between lead buyers and lead sellers.
I couldn’t agree more. The internet is rife with bad data and bad leads. And passing off this bad data as a “lead” is one of the key reasons for friction between Lead Buyers and Lead Sellers. So what is the answer?
“Keeping honest people–honest.” Contact validation is a critical component in this process. Whether you are a lead buyer or a lead seller, contact validation can help ensure the validity and contactability of a lead. By looking at a variety of data points for each contact, Lead Validation will help determine whether or not a lead should be accepted, rejected or reviewed.
The skinny on the benefits:
Lead Sellers- Improve your standings with buyers by increasing your percentage of valid/actionable leads. Demand higher price point per lead.
Lead Buyers- Only buy the leads that are the highest quality and likelihood of contactability.
Visit us on the web to see how our Contact Validation solutions can help you ensure the leads you are buying or selling are really going to drive more business to your bottom line.

Why Cross Checking is Important When Using a Contact Validation Web Service
I have been working with web services for over 6 years now and have helped many companies both big and small to resolve their frustration with the online world of bogus lead chaos and bad affiliate programs.
With all of the information and services available to help validate your inbound leads you need to make sure that it is doing more than just a simple check for validity. There are a lot of Lead Validation services out there claiming that they are the best, but let’s really ask ourselves, what are they doing that is so unique? How will they really be able to assure you that they are catching your bad leads?
Good Question.

But behind it all we have a great team of awesome individuals that not only love to help our clients, but love to help our community as well.
When Alen is not working around the clock to ensure absolute up-time for our clients, when Ryan is not explaining to Project Managers how DOTS Lead Validation can protect their affiliate lead gen projects, and when Jonas is not inventing new logic algorithms to combat the ever-evolving forms of online fraud, you will find Service Objects helping those in need.
At Service Objects social responsibility starts at the top with our executive team. On any given day you may find them serving our community by fixing bicycles on Earth Day, caring for pets during the recent evacuation of the Jesusita fires, or mentoring some of the young adults in Santa Barbara.

We are a lifetime supporter of the Humane Society, offer pro-bono licenses for public education, help Angel Flight West transport terminally-ill patients to receive medical care, and donate to local organizations in the Santa Barbara area.
At Service Objects we’re not all about business. We are in the business of helping companies reduce online fraud and validating contact information, but we are also in the business of helping people and giving back.
Thank you,

Three most common questions…
Since the launch of our Service Objects’ new Web site, there are three questions that most customers and prospects still have on the tip of their tongues regardless of their interest:
1) How much does it cost?
2) What is a transaction?
3) What is my login?
1) How much does it cost?
a) The price of each DOTS Web Service varies in regards to the number of transactions and the actual pricing tier that it falls under.
b) Our pricing is based on volume discount on a Month-to-Month or Annual basis. This choice is entirely up to (you) the client; however we always try to work within your budget. We can also create a custom contract that will allow both parties to be satisfied.
c) Please have a look at our Product Directory, which also includes a helpful pricing link for each DOTS Web Service.
2) What is a transaction?
a) Service Objects defines a “transaction” as every time you call one of our DOTS Web Services, or ping one of our databases. Even on the odd chance that the call to our services is not successful, you are still accessing our database and it will still be considered a transaction.
3) What is my login? (three part question)
a) Website login
i) Create an account
ii) If you are a current customer and have not created a Web site login you will need to do so.
iii) This login is for your use only, each person within your organization can have their own secure login information.
iv) Please go to our Registration Page to create your login.
b) Client login to check usage
You will need two items of information to check your usage:
i) The original email used to create your account
ii) Your license key
c) To check your usage please use the following links:
i) Trial Key Usage
ii) Production Key Usage
Thank you for reading and I hope that I was able to answer your questions.

Sales Tax and Address Validation: The Easy E-Commerce Solution
The economy is forcing many stores to close their doors, and as a result, we are seeing more and more businesses move to the internet. What was once a cash and carry nation, has evolved into a PayPal™ and UPS™ standard way of life.
With e-commerce redefining the business world, the little fish finally get to swim in the same pond as the big fish. Anyone with a budget and a vision can launch an online store front, and that’s where we can help.
Service Objects offers fast and easy solutions to help merchants successfully run their online businesses. Our DOTS FastTaxSM Web Service calculates sales tax and use tax, based on street address, zip code, or simple city/state/county information. It can easily integrate into your shopping cart, so the correct tax rate will auto-populate during checkout. We host the tax data and update it monthly, so you don’t have to waste time looking up tax rates or pay a third party to audit your books.
Along with calculating correct sales tax, another critical component to running an online business is verifying customer mailing addresses. DOTS Address ValidationSM is our most popular service – it corrects and standardizes U.S. addresses, as well as determines whether an address is deliverable or not. By using DOTS Address Validation to correct shipping and billing addresses at the point-of-entry, you can prevent the hefty cost of returned packages. We are one of only a few companies that the USPS® trusts with their data, and with monthly data updates, you get only the most accurate mailing information every time.
Combining the power of DOTS Address Validation and DOTS FastTax offers online merchants a simple and effective e-commerce solution. For less than the price of a latte each day, you can calculate tax rates and correct addresses for all of your online customers.
Service Objects offers a diverse range of products to help your online business run smoother, faster, and more efficiently. Give Service Objects a call today, to find out how we can build an affordable solution for you. You can also find out more about our solutions by visiting our Web site.

How Can You Lower Risk, Cost, and Grief with Online Credit Card Transactions?
|
Unfortunately, there isn’t a bullet-proof solution when it comes to avoiding online credit card fraud. Fraudulent transactions take place on a regular basis, by the millions. Not even PayPal* or Amazon can eliminate fraud. Address Verification System** (AVS) checks the inputted address against the credit card billing info that the consumer has provided at checkout. But if this person is using information from stolen credit card information, then the billing info and credit card number provided will still be correct. And then there is debit card and gift card fraud! |

Some of you have probably been researching for some time now, and are reaching the stage of ultimate frustration and confusion. This process was neither good for the business, who had no way to actually verify if the card had funds available on it; nor was it good for the consumer, who now had 3 unsecure copies of their credit card floating around for anyone to use for mail orders or internet orders.
